What it is
What shockwave therapy is
Radial shockwave therapy (RSWT) applies pulses of mechanical energy through the skin over the area being treated. The equipment we use is the Zimmer enPuls Pro.
It is noninvasive, involves no surgery or injections, and is done in the office. Each session usually takes a few minutes per area.
After examining you, the doctor decides whether this therapy makes sense for your situation and how to combine it with the rest of your plan (adjustments, muscle work, and exercises).

- Muscle and soft-tissue pain that hasn't improved with other measures
- Areas of tension and painful “trigger” points
- Shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, heel, or foot discomfort
- As a complement to chiropractic care for neck or back pain

What a session is like
The doctor locates the area to treat and moves the handpiece over the skin with a little gel. You'll feel rapid pulses and a tapping sensation.
There can be some discomfort during the application; tell the doctor if it's too much and the intensity will be adjusted. You can usually carry on with your day afterward.
